This scene is from my debut novel Playing House; available now on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Apple!

“You could.” Caleb kisses me and leads me into the shower. “But let me.”

The water feels wonderful on my muscles. I let it run over my head and down my body. Caleb grabs some shampoo and starts washing my hair.

“Really, I can do this,” I say, moving my hands up to my head, but he swats them away.

“Just let me give you a little pampering.” I pout. Pampering is not a word in my vocabulary. “Indulge me.” He tilts my head back and rinses the shampoo out. He massages conditioner into my hair. I must admit, it feels like heaven.

Caleb squeezed body wash into a washcloth and started by massaging the soap into my shoulders. I cringe when the soap enters the cuts, but quickly cover my reaction. Caleb leans over and kisses my neck. He moves down to my back, and I jump from his pressure. He draws his hand back for a second to make sure I’m okay before finishing.

He leans down and kisses my lower back. I relax deeper as he continues to take turns washing my cuts and kissing them. His hands come from behind me, reaching for my neck. I allow my head to fall against his chest as his fingers trace down my chest to my stomach. My muscles clench, and I let out a sigh. I never knew pampering could be so sensational.

Turning me to face him, Caleb smirks before kissing my lips. He slowly gets on his knees in front of me and kisses my stomach. I dig my fingers into his hair, massaging his scalp. He leans down and cleans my legs, dragging the washcloth back up my thighs and around to my backside. My hair is standing on end now.

A Quote

“No matter what your age or your life path, whether making art is your career or your hobby or your dream, it is not too late or too egotistical or too selfish or too silly to work on your creativity.”

Julia Cameron

The Artist’s Way

Couldn’t have said it better myself 🙂 A great thing to remember as you travel along your own journey.

Book Creations: Key lime Cherry Shots

Excerpt from Playing House:

KeyLimeBefore she can fish her wallet from her purse, Caleb leans over the bar to me. “Add it to my bill. Your choice, Hannah.”

His look is playful, but daring. I rise to the challenge, creating four cherry key lime shots.

Lizzy claps her hands. “Oh, boys, you’re in for a treat now.” She doesn’t wait for me to slide the glasses across the bar, instead grabbing one and raising into the air. The others follow suit, and they click their glasses together before tossing back the shots.

Caleb drinks his without taking his eyes off me. “Your creation?”

“I like to play around with ideas.”

“You like to play, huh? Lucky me.” He licks his lips.

My heart pounds in my ears again as I wonder what else he can do with that tongue of his.

Playing House soundtrack

I love music.

It drives a lot of what I do in life. It makes me happy, brings me to tears, motivates me.

So of course I made a soundtrack to go along with Playing House 🙂 Right now, it’s 5 songs that fit in with certain scenes throughout the book.

I don't own the rights to these songs. If you enjoy a song- please support the artist by buying their tune :)
